“The Giants always had to share their northern Manhattan fan base with another team. The Yankees made their first home in Hilltop Park located in Northern Manhattan around 165th and Broadway, before sharing the Polo Grounds at 155th Street with the Giants. When the Yankees finally built their own stadium in 1923, they located that Stadium in the South Bronx only a short distance across the Harlem River from the Polo Grounds.”
