“Suffragist and temperance advocate Emma Molloy’s life was never the same after she met ex-convict George Graham in the summer of 1885. Graham had started a bigamous relationship with Molloy’s foster daughter Cora Lee; after the two married, they lived with Molloy on her farm outside Springfield, Missouri. After the body of Graham’s first wife was discovered in a well on the farm the following year, Graham immediately fell under suspicion for her death.”
